This is my 10 year old coloured gelding, we have hunted all winter and now thoughts are turning to the show season and just wanted a little advice on which classes we could do?

did a few working hunter classes last year but other than that we are complete showing novices!! any advice would be very welcome.

Workers for sure, what an honest genuine boy he looks jumping that skinny and making a lovely shape. You will hate me for this, but chop his tail off level with his hocks. Put your arm under his dock and raise his tail away from his quarters and then cut his tail in line with his hock. When his tail is released the end of his tail will be slightly below his hock and then when he is on the move and carrying his tail it will be level with the hock.

At local/riding club level he could do the flat class as well as the workers.

At county level he would struggle in the flat class to be fair.
