My 9 month old male JRT has started wetting the house, does anyone know if this is because the Lab is in season and will it last?? This morning he peed all over my Baby`s pram!! i am at my wits end

People will think I am obsessed, but is he neutered? If not, then almost certainly because your dog is in season. Nice! Luckily the weather is lovely at the moment, I would be tempted to keep him outside. Also, unless you want an unusual litter, away from the bitch!

It's def because she's in season!! My JRT is a stud dog and until Darcy (who is in season at the mo) lost most of her colour he was weeing where she'd dripped on the floor >:( Needless to say he got a smacked arse LOL but now they're separated he's stopped doing it. There's no way I'm having his nads removed though

they are not left alone together so no chance of a litter, i would rather keep him entire as a few people have expressed an intrest in him for their bitch, but i am not prepared to do that if it means he is going to wee all over the place everytime she is in season!, If i did get him neutered would that stop it?? which dog would the operation be easier (i know its not easy for any of them , but you know what i mean) for... the dog or the bitch JRT is 9months and Lab is 6 in September, i`m guessing the pup am i right??

Actually the operation is far far easier on the dog than the bitch. With a bitch it is a major internal operation which is actually quite serious. Fo teh dog it is a quick nip - a squeze and a few stitches - externally. Far far less risk to get the dog done than the bitch

the pup is the dog - i don`t really want to do it at all as i said before but i will not put up with him weeing on my baby`s pram or anywhere else in the house for that matter just so other people could use him to sire a litter - they are also devoted to each other so separation isn`t really an option either TBH

It's not a really long time to separate them though really and it's only once or twice a year they have to be apart - if you decide you don't want him done that is.

as long as he is entire he is very likely to wee in the house whilst your girl is in season - and if he ever does get used then believe me it will me ten times worse

- you have two options it seems to me - either keep him outside for the length of her season or have him neutered - my boys all go in the kennels when any of the girls are in an 'interesting ' condition - they do go crazy trying to get to them and often refuse to eat, whine, pace constantly and generally behave like hormone charged loonies - far easier to get your dogs neutered unless you are serious about wanting to breed
