Helpp!
Im struggling to get my pony on the bit.

He just doesn't seem to want to listenn.

Can Anyone help?

Also. Does anyone know of a loan ponyy as a field companion? Or A horse needed to be brought on? Buiy A 5ft6 light jockey?

Emily, you need to be a little more specific about the age and experience of your pony, what training you have done so far and what your instructor has suggested before any of us have a hope of helping, a photograph indicating the problem might also be useful.

A agree without specific information people cant help you, if pony is unfit for example it wont be able to hold itself in an outline purely because it doesnt have the muscle to do so, while if horse is capable could be the way you are asking

Getting a horse on the bit, doesn't mean forcing a horses head down so it looks pretty. It comes from lots of schooling to get the back end working. Once the hind legs are coming under the horse a natural outline, i.e. on the bit, will come. Do this by hundreds of transitions and spiralling from a big circle to a smaller one. Hope this helps

you need to get your pony working more rounded with his hocks stepping underneath him to acheive a true outline. Like Claire said (good name btw

) transitions, and lots of them. Leg yeild on a circle and up the quarter line is great for getting a horse to step underneath itself.

You need to ride forwards from your leg to your hands so the energy generated behind is transferred well to your hand so the pony works softly, whilst keeping a consistent rhythm and contact.

Got my B test in october so im kind of practicing talking but writing, if you get me!
