any help u can offer will be great

Active walking is best for burning fat and short active trots if fit enough. What is she fed? You also need to cut food intake down. If the horse is being fed more energy than it needs for day to day life then it gains weight, just like people.

they all get hayledge 24/7 during teh winter, she gets feed nothing unless she gets rode and wen she does its a hand full of course mix and alfa a just as a brain feeder and reward, is taking her down teh woods best thing to do? up and down the hills ? i make her walk out to work hard, in teh summer she gets a muzzel on but the owners only ut it on during teh day and off at like 7 at night shoudl it be on all teh time or off for a few hours rather than all night?

thanxs

The muzzle a great idea, they shouldn't have it on 24/7, so taking off at night is good. I would stop the haylage and give soaked hay instead if thats possible. Also cut out the mix and Alfa a and swop for a low cal chaff like Hi Fi Lite mixed with well watered down Speedi-beet.

Sounds like you are doing a great job with the exercise! Hill work is excellent at burning calories

I have a fatty who is muzzled some of the time and it really does help and doesn't bother most horses at all. I'd swap of feed to a token handful of Happy hoof or HiFi Lite and feed Equibites to ensure your horse is getting its vitamins and minerals.

I feed my fatty a couple of handfuls of high fi lite to put an all round supplement in and the rest of his feed is hay and restricted/strip grazed grass. The only way I get his weight down is in the summer when he is ridden every day up hills and down dale for as many miles as I can get in!

hi

well i can say to the owner about the hi fi lite, would it be any good for my mra ewho is full of beans? would it be better than alfa a for her aswell? because if it is that would be a better way to say to the owner about going halfers, we cant give her hay because she is in teh field with the 6 others which all get hayledge fro the winter but i will put the muzzleon in summer, is 10 hours aday wif it on ok ?

this isnt to do with the feeding but after doing all teh hill work should i mby hose her legs down so the dont puff up? as they sumtimes do? i have to do this wif my mare in the summer when ive been jumping i now its not the same time but carring all her wait on her legs must be hard on the joints and muscles?

If your mare is full of beans then Hi Fi Lite would be a better choice!
Its always a good idea to hose off legs after a ride

I leave my shetlands muzzle on for about 10 hours and he's fine.

She should lose the weight with the diet and exercise, remember to do it slowly though! Best of luck

ok, i will speak to the and my mum about the hi fi lite as they will be the 1s buying it lol

well when the grass comes through and they get out onto it i will put it on her

i will hose her legs after we ride so they do go like ballons as they sumtimes do

i will updates us as we go along, and get some before and after pics as well

oh hw do u check posts u have either writen or commented on? i cant seem to find my other 1 and it was months ago i sent it so it will be on like page 100
