Anyone who has ever complained about BE competitions and qualifying being hard to understand... I have no sympathy whatsoever after burying my head in the BD rulebook and attempting to decipher eligibility!

Can anyone help me with the following?

I currently, as a rider, have 60 BD points at Novice and 21 points at Elementary, meaning that I am eligible for Prelim Silver and Novice Bronze.

I think once I get 25 or more points at Elementary, I am then into Prelim Gold and Novice Silver.

If I was to qualify my younger horse for the Prelim Silver Area Festivals by getting more than 9 pts in Prelim Silvers on him in the coming couple of months, would I be able to retain that qualification to ride at an Area Festival in Prelim Silver if I subsequently acquired 4 or more points at Elementary Bronze on my older horse?

Trying to work out if it is fully feasible to have a winter aim of qualifying 4yo for Prelim Silver and the 10yo for Novice Silver and Ele Bronze levels at the Area Festivals - and work out how I get the prelim silver points before I go out to get the Ele points.... confusing.com!!

Oh and a second question - can I compete at an area festival in novice bronze and novice silver on a different horse in each?!
And a third question - do scores obtained in the Combined Training classes count towards qualifying results for other area festivals?

Ring or email BD they are good at getting back to you usually. I think you retain the qualification once you have it but I'm not 100%

1. Once you have gained qualification, you keep it, even if you subsequently gain too many points. So once you have your qualification, even if you go over the 25 points at ele, you will keep your prelim/novice qualification. Go and get your novicprelim out the way, then do your ele.
2. Don't see why not. You can't do it on same horse, but different horses should be fine.
3. No, combined training classes don't count.
