OK, so I'm sitting down trying to learn this for Tweseldown at the weekend (.... please got let the rain stop....).

I'm strugling with what it means by the following:

Between C&M working canter right (ok, that bit's clear, just setting the scene)
then
B Turn right working canter right
then
X Circle right 20 metres diameter
then
E track right working canter right

I don't get it - if you turn right at B, aren't you then doing a straight line to E - so how do you then do a 20m circle at X..... or am I just totally over-thinking this and all they mean is come up large from C towards B, 20m circle at B - but then how do you get to E -as they don't then say anything about going past A, they just say track right at E. Oh, help!!!!

(this then comes up later in the test on the other rein to.....)

tea and cake available at my lorry in Tweseldown if anyone gets this right!!! :)

basically you need to turn right across the school at B towards E - imagine you were doing a straight line between them. When you reach the centre line (X) you start a 20m circle right which will meet the track at C and finish again at X. Then continue the straight line across the middle that you started before until you get to E where you will turn right round the track again to make your trot transition in the corner. You dont go anywhere near A. In theory it should show 2 proper canter corners and the difference between them and a 20m circle. In reality most people at BE100 cant canter a corner anymore steeply than doing a quarter of a 20m circle anyway so the whole movement just looks like riding almost an entire two 20m circles from C - completely ridiculous IMHO!

Where do I come for tea and cakes?

ooh, Star, you're a star! :) thanks- makes sense now!!!!

..... and we'll probably be the only 15.1hh grey connie there so are usually fairly easy to spot ;) (and for extra help spotting him, we'll be the ones looking still quite fluffy as has a blanket clip rather than fully clipped out!)

see you there, I hope!

We did the test at Isleham on Saturday ( badly I have to say) but the judges comments were " good straightness, needs to be more balanced" on the none circle bit...this weekend am going to try turning at E, asking for a little outside bend to demonstrate not on circle (!), at x do a 20m circle, then slightly flatten the circle so go straight through x, a bit of outside bend to say " look its straight", half halt then turn right. Watch out is it happens VERY quickly... we only just managed to stay in arena after the turn at B. Good luck!!
