Help with classes please....

Hi, I have a 15.1 skewbald cob that I'm wanting to show this year although I'm unsure on classes so looking for some advice! I don't feel he would make a show cob, so since November I have been growing him out....but I'm confused as to if he is a hairy, a native or a traditional gypsy cob?! He obviously isn't super hairy yet and I don't have any proper or recent pictures, this is from about 2 months ago so there is more hair growth now!

You could try him in coloured classes. As you say, he is definitely not show cob confo, so I think showing him with his full feather etc is the way to go.

Can I ask what the difference between show cob and hairy cob conformation is? I always presumed they were one and the same with or without the hair. (Sorry to post-jack OP)

I think a better photo is needed tbh. Cant see much from that one. but will agree from what I can see he doesnt look like a show cob

Hairy (same thing as a traditional) cobs and show cobs are very different shapes, The show cob tends to be more "Butty" and wider, with plenty of good flat bone.
Trads are a bit more leggy, a bit more tubular and often do not have fabulous bone but it is covered in all the hair
A native type is often something that looks like a coloured version of a welsh section D

If it's a local riding club show, just enter into anything, you'll see what other horses are in the class and can make your mind up as to which class he fits into...

Thank you, yes will be doing coloured classes...So I definitely don't think he is a native hairy, so I need to keep going with the hair growth and then see if he is a gypsy cob or a hairy traditional, I'm taking him to his first show in 2 weeks which has a selection of chaps, bspa and tgca classes so hoping that will give me an idea! I've got a hw show cob and a Welsh cob, never had a hairy before so it's a new minefield

Gypsy cob and traditional cob are pretty much the same thing
