Im currently competing my horse at Novice level. However, im fed up just going to a show and coming away with a rosette and a 'good day out'. I want to start doing some qualifiers for different things but havent a clue what, where to go. How do i find out where qualifiers are etc. Im currently stabled in Meopham North West Kent
Thanks

afflicted or unafflicted?!

if you are reg with BD have a look at the website-you've got either the Petplan Equine area festivals or the regionals to aim at.

if not, are there any venues round you running trailblazers classes?

Thanks for the reply. Its unaffiliated. Would like to try and qualifier for regionals and things like that. Whats the best way to go for unaffiliated?

The Regionals are affiliated, if you are doing well at Novice why not affiliate?

Other than that there is Trailblazers, you need to check your local centres to find out if they hold qualifiers, Chiltern and Thames Magazine also hold a championship but not sure if it is in your area.

UK Riders do qualifiers for Regional and National Championships at dressage - go to UK Riders / Chasers website. Cobham Manor used to run qualifiers but not sure since Ive moved away.

There is also the South East Region Unaffiliated Championships which a number of venues run qualifiers for - the Championship is run at Hickstead. The nearest I know of to you is Oldencraig which also run two of their own Unaffiliated Champs Winter and Summer but there may be others in Kent.

If you can go further afield and want to have experience of a bigger venue Hickstead also run their own Unaffiliated Series with Championship at the end and the standard is high.

Riding clubs also often run their own dressage series with Championships at the end and you can also be on Area teams to qualify for Regional and National Championships.

So far Ive had so many venues and championships to choose from at Unaffiliated Level run at affiliated venues using Listed judges that I haven't bothered with the faff of affiliating. My horse was imported at 10 and therefore automatically comes with loads of points he has never won and I either have to have him downgraded (in which case I cant do any amateur qualifiers) or I have to pay for him to be assessed.

Anyway have fun :)
