Hi y'all, hoping you can offer some advice and ideas re: feeding my heavy weight trad cob :)

I've been keeping a close eye on his weight and it has gone up a bit, even though I've been cutting his food back. Now, I don't want to stop feeding him altogether as he's only rising 4 and still very much growing, so I need to make sure he's getting all the stuff he needs to grow as big and strong as he can.

At the moment, he is on:

AM
Small cup of D&H pasture mix (I reckon 1/8th stubbs scoop if that)
1/4 scoop of alfa-a oil
Garlic

PM
Small cup of D&H pasture mix
1/4 scoop alfa-a oil
Small scoop of speedi-beat (like the scoops you get at pets stores)
Brewers yeast
Garlic

Overall, this probably makes up one Stubbs scoop if that, but he's clearly still doing very well on it.

I'm contemplating whether I should change him to a feed balancer but don't really know where to begin on those. He has been backed and he is being worked, though not as much as I had hoped, but we are working on that.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated :)

Also, here's some photos I took a couple of weeks ago so you can get an idea of how he is looking at the moment.

Magnums for all :D

Grazing wise, he's out 24/7 on ok grazing. If he was older, I'd possibly just leave him with the grazing and feed some supplements to make sure he's getting all his vitamins and minerals, but because he is still very much growing, I feel he needs a little more to make sure he's developing as best he can.

I'll have a google of Bailey's low cal balancer, thanks BHW :)
