Hi, need a little bit of help. I have a 15.2hh very over weight cob. She has just been moved on to a bare starvation paddock that hardly has any grass roots showing, it is just soil! Just need to know what you would feed her if she was yours and how much? How much hay? Any hard feed?

I know she doesn't need much but I don't want to starve her!

Is this the coloured who is just coming back into work?

In that case no hard feed, if there really is NO grass then perhaps some 2005 hay, with little in it?

you can always give her a vit/min supplement to ensure she is getting everything she needs.

I know people who have had good results feeding hifi lite as a hay replacer too, but this has no vits/minerals in it so you would again probably need a general supplement.

I would feed her ad lib soaked hay as she needs the fibre to keep her hindgut moving, without the calories. (Preferably soaked overnight to get rid off all the sugars). Plus give her something like Top Spec Anti Lam balancer or Baileys Lo Cal balancer to ensure that she is getting all the vits and mins she needs.

At least 1% of her bodyweight shoud be a fibre feed. With no hard feed I would give her 1.5% and a feed balancer
