help with food!

My horse has a problem that as soon as haylegh hits the floor he will not eat it he even poos all over it so he knows i then cannot fill a net up with whats left on the floor! is there anything i can do to stop this as im going through 1 big haylegh every two weeks used to last me a month even in winter!

Have you tried the haylage nets with very small holes??

Mines the same - haven't found a way to stop it! Luckily OH's mare is a hoover so she gets what he has dropped!

YOu could try putting one net inside another to reduce waste, or putting it in a giant trug

I woudl use 2 nets, small holed do its doubled up and put a tub trug underneath them so the hay drops into that.

or get one of those Hay Bar things?
