i need to get a grazing muzzle for my horse but want a leather strap one. i have only found the shires leather one which looks as though it would come straight off with a rub of the horses ears!! i don't want a nylon one as they don't break if caught!! i've seen the best friend ones but they still don't look soft and supple enough to rub less! can anyone suggest anything, i would have thought there would be a comfortable softer one than nylon in this day and age i just can't find one! any help would be most appreciated??thanks, alice

I have used a best friend one for years, in fact I am on the 3rd one. I have not found them to rub. They are nose shaped, rather than the bucket shape of the shires one. I always buy the one that velcro's to my own headcollar.

I use the shires one and it doesn't seem to rub, i've found getting the size bigger than he really needs round his nose helps stop any rubs, but then the straps are fairly snug to stop him getting it off! There is also a velcro section on the headpiece, it is quite strong but will come apart if really pulled.

Another thumbs up for Best Friend muzzles. I tried a Shires and the horse rubbed it straight off. The bucket piece wasn't deep enough. The BF one stays in place and doesn't rub
