help with jumping distances???

help please
whats the distance between a double and a bounce?
also distance between a jump and pacing pole ?

its for a 17hh ID.
having a total mental block..

A double with one stride between is 24feet, 6ft to land with a 12ft stride & 6ft to take off. A bounce fence is 12', 6ft to land & 6ft to take off, no stride. It doesn't matter the size of the horse the distances always remain the same.

4 human strides (1 metre each) to 1 horse stride.... half stride allowance for take off and for landing...

1 stride double = 8 strides

bounce = 4 strides (I make it about 3 and 3/4s if I am honest)

I went to a really good demo with tim stockdale and he basically walked the legnth of a sj pole in 4 strides and to use this as a distance judge.

I have used this over and over again and it works.

You basically have to work out walking the length of the pole in 4 strides and then doing it without looking until you can walk it automatically

IT WORKS!!!! funnily enough
