Hey, well its been 2 days and my pony is still lame. Her front left leg to be exact. i checked and she's got no visable issues and her hoof has nothing stuck in it. what issue could it be? she's even lame when she's walking and its worse on hard ground.
pictures to follow of her 2 front hooves, as there is a small difference, thanks x

Is your pony in or out? How old is it? Is it able to walk on the leg or is it totally lame that it can't move? Is the lameness improving at all?

out, sadly don't have stables, just field shelter. 9 years, she can move but stands still all the time if she can. i have lifted her good leg up so she is able to put weight on her sore leg. no its slowly, (very slowly) getting worse :(

Personally from personal experence if it is living out and is able to put weight on it then i usually leave mine a few days and hope they have just pulled something and it will sort itself out, i do stable mine on a night though so they do come in and rest... this isn't always a good thing as they may become stiff!
I'd look at how much pain your pony is in... if it is in a lot of pain and looks unhappy i'd be inclined to call your vet for advice, if it is just lame but seems happy and is wondering around the field eating and everything as normal i'd be less worried..... Having not seen the pony though and how lame it is it is hard to say!
Could it be an abscess? Is the foot hot? Cos they will gradually get worse with an abscess....

thank you so much you've made me feel better, just so worried about her because she is a competition pony jumping nearly every week:( she is eating which I'm pleased about but is very moody and sulky. (however she is nearly always moody) no its not hot, photo is coming on now.

Maybe she has just pulled something? If she isn't better soon i would call the vet and get a professional oppinion from them.... But as i say they can knock things when in the field or pull something just like us and be sore on it etc and it starts to slowly get better.... Normal behaviour is good! Check her foot for heat cos random lameness like that i always check things like an abscess as it's easy to check for!
I think as an owner we always worry but if you thought it was that bad as in she was in a lot of pain and really unhappy with it you would have known and already called the vet up. Hope she is better in the morning!!
