help with loading in boxplease :) cob suddenly wont load

Sorry, was not suggesting you are not a caring horse owner, just that cobs can weigh a lot more than you think.

Both of my cobs weigh more than our 16.2 + warmblood  One of them is only 14.1 and the other used to be 15hh but has shrunk after 36 years of yorkshire rain :)

That said they take the same rug size as the big one, big bodies on little legs and much more solid bones

My horse used to load fine then after a few trips to the vets he all of a sudden wouldnt load!!
Maybe he assosiated travelling with going to the vets but i wanted to get him out to competions again.
I am against lunge lines whips etc as especially with my horse he is super sensitive.
I bought a monty roberts dually headcollar and have never looked back since my horse loads perfect, I did get help in using it from my dressage instuctor first but i would defo recommened one!

Again, I really appreciate all the comments :)

A wee update so far.....had a friends Horsebox man out yesterday after work who suggested taking the partitions off for a while to see if that helps. He also suggested moving the exhaust pipe as he thinks it's current position my be emitting fumes into the box area.

So.....partitions came out yesterday, birthday boy cob managed to load three times ( With a bit of help from his dually halter ) and each time he got on he chose to stand smack bang in the middle of the box where the partition would have been lol. I was doubly mpressed as this didn't even involve foot or treats as bribery ;)

Hopefully we will be moving in the right direction.

OMG, sounds like your horse has plenty of common sense then. If the horsebox man is correct you and your horse could have ended up with carbon monoxide poisoning.

Glad you have got it sorted
