Any suggestion to help with mane regrowth? Having neck covers on through winter has destroyed my boys lovely mane, he has a lot of breakage, mainly underneath.

Has anyone used anything that has given successful results?

Neighked do one but I haven’t tried it. I’ll follow this thread though as back in autumn I butchered my lad’s tail and it’s still absurdly short now 😭 hopefully anything that works on manes will help tails grow faster too.

My 30yr old finally has a mane again, after 8 odd years with no neck covers.

She was down to a few strands here and there, and just the other day I noticed she finally has a proper mane again.

Not what you want to hear, but ditch the neck covers.

Next year change to detachable necks and use a lighter neck than the rug, so 100g rug and 50 or 0 neck etc…somewhere I read that having a heavier neck can cause the hair to fall out due to overheating. I’ve never had a problem since I’ve done this with various horses!

A friend has used the Neighkid stuff, the hair has eventually grown back but it’s very thin compared to the rest of the mane. I think no necks are the only answer sadly x

I accidentally discovered, very randomly, Progressive Earth 'Pro hoof platinum' was the only thing that made my gelding's yucky mane grow nicely. Before that it always broke off and he had thin patches. Since he's retired and I stopped feeding it, his mane has returned to its previous unappealing state 🙄😆

That's interesting. I used to feed it but current pony won't touch it, fussy creature.
