Help with new puppy

As you say 'Routine'. You now seem to be moving forwards. Well done!

I thoroughly approve of your plans to give your dog a purpose beyond that of being a companion. Dogs which tend to focus, need an outlet for their energies, sometimes an outlet which will tax the brain and with others, a physical release of their energies. Dogs which bottle-up their unspoken needs can be the most difficult of all!

We had ours in the crate locked in while we were in the same room, he had to be made to rest and his owner wanted him crate trained. We built up his time gradually.

I confess, once he squeaked us awake at 4am when upstairs, he went out for weeks then got popped into bed with us til normal get up time, 6am. I feel somewhat shamed! It was adorable! He went everywhere with us:
