we bought a new pony who doesnt particully cope with trailers very well, she cane with a trailer so we decided to getrid of the trailer and get a different one, first off we couldntget her in then a really nice friend of a friend got her in with a dually headcollar , the idea was to get her use to just going in trailer out the front, we now do this without hestitaion the prroblem we now have is that she goes in trailer but straight out the front!!! help!!! if we put breast bar up she panics!!! any ideas?? x

Start taking her in halting and then walking out. When you can halt her try feeding her in there and then try putting the breast bar up etc. You need to work slowly and step by step.

I agree with the above, it helped with our mare, we used to ask her to stand for a couple of seconds then lead her out, once we could get her stood in there we fed her her dinner in there and then led her out calmly, it was helping and we got to the point of putting breast bar up (holding it there so could let it down quick if she was to panic). All takes alot of time and patients but you will get there
