Hi to all the breeders out there!

It's third time around for my little mare! She has already bred a beautiful Lux Z who is 4yo and super talented. Her second is by Baloubet Du Rouet, less good looking than the Lux and as yet untested but should be talented if he is true to his lineage.

I need to go something that will bring Height and Refine her a little bit as she is just 15.2hh and medium weight. She is VERY pretty.

Her breeding is here:

The Lux Z is small, the Baloubet is a bit taller but hard to tell yet what he will mature at, so height is critical for me.
I am breeding to sell, so something Commercial is a requirement. The mare is x Radolin who is dual purpose so i can breed for SJ or Eventing.

Due to current market conditions, I have been left with no option but to hold on to the two I have with the intention of selling them broken in and proven.

Thats the lot i think, any suggestions are very welcome and i cant thank you enough! I had been looking at Pachino but alas that wasn't to be.

I would definitely go the eventer route as I doubt a foal by an SJ stallion would be commercial enough to the dam's breeding. Se has nice lines to be put to a TB stallion to get an eventer- look for full or close to full horses like Weston Justice, Revolution, Mill Law etc

Thanks for the reply The Mule!

I will take a close look at the names you suggested.

I should have said that the mare has competed successfully up to 1.10 herself and was ready to progress up to 1.20 and possibly 1.30 had she been given the opportunity.
I wouldn't be so quick to rule out the SJing, especially after seeing how good the Lux has turned out, his technique is fantastic.

I would definitely be more careful to breed for height and with lots of TB. I was looking at VDL Orestus as he seems to fit the bill on both of those fronts...

Another horse suggested to me was Zambesi, who is by Heartbreaker...

That's a pity RCP, that would make for some nice Irish eventing type lines, but two small horses don't = a big one :)

I know such a shame as he is a stunning chap! And his breeding is very good, he's like Hovis best of both :D

Bonus picture thrown in anyway! :D

Oh he looks really smart RCP, best of luck with him!

I wonder would i get a few more replies if i added some photos?

Here's a link to an album with lots of pics of my collection of Gg's :)

How about Zenturio, at Findon stud in kent?
He has many gone both SJ and eventing to top level, and they are super horses to be around (Got two, about to go for another......., and had 3 foals by him!!)

super straightforward honest people, who have been in the buisness over 35years

My mare sounded alot like yours. She was a harlquin du carel mare. I tried her with luidam and peppermill with no luck sadly (one of those things). You could consider those two. Lord Z is a sire I have been more than impressed with too

Hi NBC, id love a Peppermill alright, i thought about Luidam before but kept away as when i saw him in the flesh i thought he was quite small. Am having a look at Indoctro at the moment...

Will take a look at Zenturio now Elijhasgal ;)
Gees you could spend your life looking up stallions!

Have you thought about Amaretto M? He stands at brackenspa stud in lincolnshire, he is a relatively young stallion but has done very well in both BS and started BD this year. He is a big lad (17 hands+) unfortunately i dont think he has any ridden stock yet because of his age but might be worth considering? His owner is a member and could no doubt tell you more

I think i have narrowed my search to Indoctro and Kannan.

I spoke with both studs today and conditions are similar. Apparently, Kannan has covered in excess of 50 horses in Ireland this year, which worried me as that would lead me to believe there will be an oversupply of that age group when they hit the market.

Am i incorrect in thinking that 50 young stock by the same stallion is a lot in a small country?

I have a Lux z already and IMO that stallion has been a victim of his own success. Im lucky i have a really nice one, but there are a lot of poor quality cheap horses by him on the market, which weakens the brand.

I personally think Kannan is amazing, and so many of his progeny are good which surely means the youngstock would be very desirable.

If he wasn't frozen I would use him
