Help with worming programme

Hi all

I last wormed in August with Equest, we've been using this and Pramox for the last year, can someone suggest a programme for the next year with a different brand?

worm count you may need not to worm

you dont need to change your brand. the others all have resistance. stick with equest and pramox and worm count to make sure it's working and reduce how many you need to give.

Stick with the Pramox and Equest and if you can, worm count.

Def worm count, I was worming every time and only stopped when the wormers started making my big horse really ill. Theyve had 2 counts since and both were completely clear both times, and I will be blood testing for tapeworms cos they dont show up on the count.

Although I didnt have a choice before cos of livery yard policy (now nags are at home hurrah), I still regret all the unnecessary chemicals I pumped them full of, it is so nice now to just send off the sample and then them say you dont need to worm!!

Since all wormers now have some resistence, to make them effective we really all should only be using them when there are worms present. Not what the wormer companies will send you, thats why they are so keen these days to send a years supply.....
