This is in the wrong place, but thought I'd get more answers here

My son is currently in his first year of 6th form, he is finding biology quite hard (he has just started with a tutor) and is worried that if he doesn't get the right grade with next exams he will not be allowed to continue in 6th form and therefore not continue with his other A levels (PE and Psychology). His aim is to study Equine Sports Science at Hartbury. My question is (probably really dumb) when working out the UCAS points needed for a course is this just A level points or does it include GCSEs? Thanks.

It is A levels only.

However, do make sure that the courses you look at are happy to just calculate the points. At Cardiff for instance we want specific grades - not a points accumilation.

I would contact Hartpury if I were you. Everywhere is different. They won't count GCSES but they might count vocational qualifications such as BHS stages etc

UCAS tariff points are awarded for A levels and AS levels, also BHS exams, but only Stage 3 and PTT at present. You can also get some tariff points for other things such as Key Skills at certain levels, but not GCSEs.
Google UCAS for a list of qualifications and points awarded.

Thanks for all your replies, he is constantly revising and I know he is worried about his next exam, however we are 100% behind him and will do whatever it takes to get him to Hartpury

Shilasdair - I have it on my favourites but having not gone to Uni find it all fairly mind boggling
