I know this is going to sound daft but can anyone tell me if I have been using this bit the right way, have been using it with ring on the inside (The small ring at the top)

Oh dear - whats wrong with the old fashioned snaffle, pelham - or anyone remember the kimblewick....used to be quite good, I recall!!

Only on the grounds that the buckle on the leather bit would be digging into the horse if it was the other way round, i think you have been using it correctly!

ETS- yep my first pony had a kimblewick!!- strong neck setting little buggar!!

Yay, at last.:)

Good to see a bit of this design actually being used with a curb/chinstrap.

Personally, I would actually use it the other way so that the top ring is on the outside of the larger one rather than against the face. The curb/chinstrap will undo. I am not familiar with this bit so stand to be corrected.

:) Absolutely nothing wrong with any of them, if a particular horse likes them, some don't.

OK, I will correct myself. :)
Looking at the same design now, it is correct as you said, if it was turned around with this mouthpiece it would be the wrong way.

yeah, think you're right. We use the same bit a ns, right? Ours just has a plain mouth piece with a lozenge When jumping the 17 hh beast. Its worked a treat makes him so soft in the hand. Much better than hauling on a snaffel and not as intense as the huge gag he came with.

Yep it's correct :) NS Trans Universal if my memory serves, I used to use one on my old ponies. Very good bits! :)
