I am new on the forum, but I have a question with regard to damage to trailers.

Scenario is horse kicked trailer door frame and now trailer is now written off. Unfortunately, trailer not insured. Haven't contacted insurance company yet but does anyone have any thoughts/suggestions.

If your trailer isn't insured then you will have to dig deep & pay for repairs or sell for scrap.

Will your car insurance cover the damage, if it was hitched up at the time?

If the trailer isn't yours but someone else's, then they could make a claim from you
- assuming your horse has 3rd party liability insurance.

I assume you have had a trailer person to look at it and they have recommended it is not financially viable to repair it?

Can it be repaired at all, or would it be deemed unsafe?

What reason have you been given to write it off?
