HELP!!

I have a 4 year old (just turned) Anglo arab x warm blood 15.3/16.00 mare, because i live on an island it is extremely hard to get hay or haylage as it is all ordered at the start of the year and most farmers make silage. has anyone got any tips on feeding or hay replacements i can use for her? As i will have to order hay from south. She is currently not in work but she will be doing light lunging, training for in hand shows untill summer next year when i will back her myself. Normally this is not a problem, but due to family circumstances i have had to sell my fields so only have 2 left but wouldn't like to leave her on grazing over winter sue to her age/breed. Any advice?
 
How cold does it get in winter? Unless its really freezing (as in -20 or colder) I'd leave her out. There's no sense in risking gastrointestinal health by feeding insufficient forage if there's an option to leave her out.
 
I would leave her out too but the additional forage can be any bagged chaff, Fast fibre, oat straw, unmolassed sugar beet etc just dont know how easy they are to get. It does work out more expensive. I cant feed hay so tend to leave mine on a small acreage over summer and they then eat the rested bit over winter. Hay gives mine the runs so I have to feed bucket feeds when the grass is gone and I do feed well netted ay so it takes them a long time to eat it as this helps a bit and brewers yeast to help their tumies
