Help !!!!!!????

Ok so we sold my pony last friday on th contract that if he passed the vetting the next day we cashed the cheque!
He passed the vet with flying colours and they brought him properly on sat!
Sunday they decide to take him too an event! He flies round Xc but he then stops Show jumping and the little boy falls off. He looses his nerve and refuses to get back on major. I can tell you major has never had a stop SJing at any comp with me!
They ring up today tell mum this and say YO his flatwork is bad too. We didnt hide anything they rode him twice and we tld them flatwork wasnt his strongest point.
What do we do. We only have him back at the yard for major's best intrests??
Now i'm pretty sure we have the money for him but what do we do if they want his money back?? what do we do about livery ( we have a new horse coming on monday and full livery for two isnt cheap) Do they pay till we sell him?
He has also come back stiff behind and not quite right. YO is seeing what he is like tomorrow! what do we do???
Dad is very good with these sorts of things but wanted you oppinions on the situation???
 
tricky really , i mean they didnt give the pony a chance really, u say they took him 2 a show the next day ... hmmmm , well i would of thought let him settle in his new home 4 a while, its tricky, if it was me i would say sorry a deals a deal, but i dont no your circumstances .....
 
i wldnt have a clue what to do sorry. but seems daft on their behalf to take a new pony to a show the very next day that they buy him! he wldnt have time to settle in or anything! sounds a good job you've got him back
 
Maybe it'd just me - they seem to be judging him very quickly bearing in mind you only sold him last Friday unless I have misunderstood the situation!!

I'd say it's tough titty as far as they're concerned. They had plenty of opportunity to try him before they agreed to take him and you've not hidden anything from them.

I think they were pretty ambitious taking him to an event that quickly before he had chance to settle in and for the lad to get to know him.

My only concern would be what will happen to the pony if you refuse to have him back.
 
Oh no, I can only imagine how rubbish you feel having just sold Blackie. Well I personally think it’s there own fort, and they have to realise that horses aren’t machines. I really hope things work out, if you have sold the pony once I’m sure you will sell him really quickly again, and this time to a more knowledgeable home!

yes thye told us he was coming right back I am at boarding school and dad in London mum at work grr
Just dropped him back at the yard!

OOO and LZT!- mum and dad are fuming lol!
Dad is just pleased the pony is back with us and happy mum is in a state lol! o well not at home for 2 weeks !
 
In my experience you can never be just a "passenger" with any horse in competition or any situation!! Stupid people

! Absolutely cannot believe they took him to an event the day after they bought him! He is better off back with you, then you can find him a proper home.
 
Well its their problem really, they are the legal owners now. They should be paying his livery bill it was their choice to drop him back. If he has come back stiff as well, I wouldn't be giving them the money back until he has been checked by a vet if that is what you decide to do, they sound like a bunch of idiots IMO. I would never take a horse to a competition the day after I bought it. Numpties

They should pay livery til he is sold. don't return money and they get the money he is sold for less your commission when he is sold. Idiots don't deserve horses.

If you have cashed the cheque i think this is a good idea. Just be careful that this doesn't start a dispute.

If it were me, i would get the pony looked over by the vet, and then explain to the people that they are responsible for all bills resulting from this. The cash they paid could go towards vet and pay for livery (plus other bills like farrier, food, worming - everything!). If there is anything left when you finally sell the pony again i'd give them the difference. However if you do it this way you might want to seek legal advice.

I can't believe these people, i would be so angry!! It seems your as lucky as me when it comes to selling horses.
 
Umm..surely you can't sell their pony? If they have bought him, he is theirs and you really need to clear up their intentions(perhaps offer to 'buy' him back for a lower price?
I suspect legally he is theirs and therefore yes they incur costs but you cannot sell him!

May be wrong though..
 
I am a great believer in fate and I think that when you find the right home for this pony you will look back in hindsight and be so glad that it didn't end up with this little boy and his family. Your pony's welfare is of the upmost importence.

Personally if it were me I would give back their money and just find another home - prevent all the aggro and hassle that could persue in this case even if it will cost you livery in the meantime.

I am probably just soft and always looking for the easy way out.

they took him to a competition the day after buying him? And the boy is just a 'passenger'?! Sound like complete idiots to me, major is best off being back with you until you find someone that deserves him. No idea what should be done about the money/livery situation, but I'd be furious!
 
What total fools!!
They have wasted your time, spoilt the pony and runined the childs confidence.

I would never ever put my child on a strange pony at an event until we had spent a considerable amount of time with it.

I know this doesnt help you but I hope they dont get away with it. Good luck xx

yes and that s why we did have him back but we cant aford to full liverys!
