My horse keeps jumping out of his field, he is jumping gates that are 6ft with ease, how do you stop this from happening. ( I can't wait to compete him now though :-) ) but a bit worrying, has anyone else had this problem?

He only does it when he is on his own but I am not always there when the girls bring their horses in, they are quickly learning you can't leave him out on his own as he brings himself into the yard and puts himself in his stable.

Well you could put fencing above the gate to make it higher if the rest of fencing is high hedges. But tbh, it sounds like he would just get extremely upset so probs best to not leave him out on his own, simples.

You may just have to make sure hhis not left out alone, my mare will jump out if left in the field alone so she is brought in as I really dont want her jumping so high onto concrete its not worth the risk.

My horses would do the same if left alone. You must be very patient because I'd tell the other liveries very clearly not to be so stupid as to leave a stressed horse in a situation where it puts itself, and others at risk.

Mine does it all the time, for his own entertainment. Friend of mine called her dog this evening and my horse came instead, over 3 post and rail fences

It's a real PITA as I worry every time I leave him out, where he's going to be and who he will have jumped in with

I've tried putting extra fencing inside the existing but he always seems to find the weak spot (or just jumps the gate) I've seen him trot to a 5'6 metal gate and just pop it :O

Like you, I love that he can - but I seriously wish he wouldn't!
