I was out all day today so asked the girl who helps out with the horses if she would poo pick for me and then ride my horse. On my return my OH told me that he had seen her boyfriend (who has NEVER ridden before) riding my horse in the school. I am so angry that she waited till she knew I wasn't around to then put him on! My horse is 17.3hh so even if he had just slipped off it would still prob hurt!!
What would you do if this happened to you??

Has she ever specifically been told not to let someone she knows on your horse? If not id say make the rules clearer but in a nice way. If she knows this is not allowed she needs telling again and given the reasons why. I wouldn't fly off the handle about it unless this is like the 3rd offence.

How old is she? Does she work for you or is it a sharing arrangment? tbh she probably didn't mean to deceive you in any way, maybe had more time over the bank holiday to let BF have a quick ride? I would wait until you feel calmer about it then ask her about it. If she is quite young she probably didn't realise that it might upset you.

Well I would be fuming. More than fuming actually, but I wouldn't say anything until I had calmed down. Helper or sharer, it is not her horse to decide who rides it.
If I was in your position then I would expect even just a quick text to ask me, it isn't on just to presume that it is ok. It's not!
Wait until you calm down then speak to her and make sure she knows this must never happen again.

She sounds very young because she has immature judgement and takes risks, both with being caught and also in her the risk she set for others. This is what you can expect from a younger helper, and is probably normal for her age. Can you find a more adult helper? Do you pay her for this service?

You could explain that had her BF fallen off and hurt himself badly your insurance would not have covered him as he did not have your permission to ride. Likewise, if your horse had caused any damage whilst he was riding it the insurance company may refuse to pay out as he was riding without your consent.
