My mare has developed slight lamness due to bruising one of her front feet. Vet came out yesterday, removed the show and she's bruised on the sole and has a tender heel.
I hot poulticed the foot last night and intend to carry on for a couple of days and keep her in resting. The foot is wrapped and padded, and covered with a Shoof Hoof boot in the stable. Once she's more comfortable I will use an Equiboot when she's turned out, until the farrier reshoes the foot.
Does anyone have any tips on how to help the foot recover as quickly as possible and make the mare more comfortable?
