Helping a hore to settle..advice please :)

Hi, I've not read all the replies and not sure if it's been mentioned but is there anyway of moving her next to the stable that your gelding is in? Maybe having him next to her might settle, this worked when I moved my two (gelding and mare) and my gelding seemed to settle a bit better knowing and seeing his friend was next to him and content to eat etc. sorry about your situation, you can't help but worry!!! How everything works out!!

I was just about to suggest this - or a stable opposite him if it's a barn, so they can see each other, then I refreshed the page and saw I'd been beaten to it!

Could you get a battery powered radio and leave it on when she's in - the sound of voices/music might help settle her.

Hope you find a solution soon OP and your mare starts to enjoy her new home.

Ailbheg - great minds think alike :)

Yes a radio might help which I also used for my two when moving. OP, maybe have a chat with your vet to see if he has any suggestions, maybe leaving a few treats in amongst her bed and haynet for her to sniff out while she's in her stable.

I'm not sure what else to suggest but I would definitely seek comfort with advice from a vet if she's not eating. Let us know how you get on, fingers crossed :)
