Helping hand and insurance........

I was hoping to ask a neighbour if she would bring my horse in for me at lunchtime during the winter to save me from coming home from work to bring him in. She has a pony of her own and my horses field backs on to her garden.

Would I need to let my insurance company know of my plans just in case anything should happen to her whilst bringing him in?

Does anyone know if this would cost me more? He already has public liability, would this cover me?

Any help appreciated, thanks.
 
I would imagine you are covered as long as you do not pay her. My bhs insurance does not cover anyone that i pay. I believe this is common practice.
 
What flashharry said. As long as no payment's changing hands and you have given the perosn permission to handle the horse they wouldm under most policies, be treated as the policyholder. That would mean they could not claim against your insurance if something did happen (ie they were injured by your horse)
