Looking a for dust-free bedding and this seems to fit the bill, I just know nothing else about it!

I've used it. Very expensive to set up at £7+ a bag. Also its deceiving in that you open bag and think wow loads of bedding here.. then horsie lies down and it flattens BUT it smells great- is really absorbant and totally dust free.... og and degrades quicker than straw or shavings.

I use flax, I think it's the same kind of thing as hemcore? If not ignore me!

I've had 3 on it this winter, on deep litter system. I've found it very economical, dust free and easy to use. The only bedding I would prefer is megazorb but at the time I couldn't afford the start up costs.

I've just put one of my horse's on Aubiose as he was having a reaction to straw, i've also had him on shaving's but he was so dirty with them.

Aubiose is a expensive bed to start up, but has saved me money long term as i have him on semi deep litter, i put a new bale in every 10days. When you muck out there is hardly any waste where as with shaving's i was using a bale and a half a week.

had to use it last year as we were on an organic farm. it was much better than normal shavings. i managed to buy it for £5.50 (no name on bag) i had to start with 5 bags then 1 a week to top up.

im using a bedding which is called Bliss - think its the same. i personally hate it, don't find it very absorbant. Ive started using wood pellet bedding (like cat litter) use it on rubber matting so absorbant its amazing and so much cheaper.

I started using Nedz beds, I have found it great as it is much more absorbant than shaving, my horse is quite wet. During wet weather i found it absorbed the damp in the air too so I started mixing it with shavings. I find the mix works well and i just adjust it to the weather, more shavings during wet weather and more nedz bed when it is dry.

a yard im moving to use a shavings/chopped straw mix, its not dusty and supposed to be quite good, but quite pricey, i wont be on it though as my boys to messy lol
xx

I used Hemcore for a (very) little while once. It was expensive but was very absorbent and I was well impressed . . . . that is until it reached its maximum absorption level and went rock hard. I walked into the stable one day and it was like walking up a concrete step. I didn't find mucking out poo was any different to shavings so I went back to them.

Not tried Hemcore but I am also looking for a new bedding, previously used Megazorb and while I liked it, it worked out expensive as it only comes in sack sized bags rather than a compressed bale. We've then been on shavings as we could get them free but our pony now has a resp infection.
What else is recommended? What is Easibed like? What is Nedz bed?

Thanks in advance.
Lyn

I have used hemcore for about 6 months now and I love it!

I agree it is expensive to lay the initial bed but it costs me less to bed my pony on hemcore than straw on a day to day basis.

My supplier ran out due to a problem at the factory and I had to use easibed for a couple of weeks and hated it!

It made me appreciate how absorbent the hemcore was and how it seems to stay so clean!
