I posted on here a while back saying that Henry had found a new home on loan, well that went out the window. After 2 weeks of asking when he was going to come and pick Henry up and always being told "when I have found a trailor" and then finally "I don't know, I'm in two minds whether to have him or not" I put him straight up for sale. Frankly, it pi$$ed me off as I could have put him up last month and sold him back then, rather than struggling this month as I couldn't afford to pay his livery easily, especially with it getting colder now and needing to get Ethel ready for winter buying her new rugs etc. Anyway, that little rant over ... I had a few people come and have a look at him but none really interested because of how nervous he is. On Tuesday a lovely lady came to see him, asked a few questions about him and asked to go in to get a headcollar on him. No one since I got him has been able to get a headcollar on him in the stable other than me, I normally have to catch him first for anyone to do anything with me. It took me a week to get a headcollar on him when I got him, this lady had it on him within 5 minutes. She then took him out of his stable for a little walk around the yard to see how he led, then back in his stable picked up all his his feet. She was very kind and calm around him and he was calm in return. She asked to look at his passport and then told me she would ring me the next day with her desicion. Next day I got a text saying she really liked him, but because of his nervousness she would only pay £75 for him, he was up for £350, but I took the offer. Firstly because I need him gone before next month, I really can't afford him at all next month as I have soooo much to pay for, and secondly because of how good she was with him and how well he took to her, I think she's the perfect person for him, full of patience and kindness. We had a chat over the phone and I am going to see his new home sometime next week, just to make sure its as perfect as she explains it to be, and she is going to pick him up next Saturday.
As much as I need to sell Henry, and haven't really been getting on with him, I'm going to be sad to see him go and I will miss him, he came on so far but lack of money and time for him means he has to go, but at least I know he is going to a lovely home.
