I have finally found a new home for Henry, he's going on loan to someone I work with for a month, if he likes him then he's going to buy him off me for what we bought him for, if not then he will sell him for me as he knows lots of people who would buy him.
I'm a bit sad that he's going, but also relieved as I've had so much trouble with him this week, with him reducing me to tears after trying to catch him for three hours on Thursday night with him just running away, not letting me near him and jumping over the fence to keep getting back in a field with the other horses. In the end I blocked off the exit from the yard, opened a stable door and called two friends down to chase him into a stable, just to get a headcollar on him as he got his off in the field. I've done everything I can think of to get him to trust me, and we were doing so well, he'd let me catch him easily in the big field with Ethel in there, something he would never have let me do before, but then I went on holiday for a week. Then he turned back into the pony he was when I first got him, not quite so bad, but I've been having trouble catching him ever since I came back. So basically I've given up .. I know its bad, but I've tried everything I can think of, taken advice off more experience people, but nothing works. This isn't the only reason he's going, I can't afford to keep two horses, especially when I have my car and start driving, and if I could afford it then I probably would keep trying with him. But now he's going to someone more experienced and patient who is going to break him in to drive which he'll be so good at. I'm gonna miss the little bugger, but I think it will be better for both of us
