He was starved all day yesterday, the he has had a scrambled egg today, half in the morning and half this evening.

However he has also supplemented this diet with a little horsepoo

He was ok all day but has brought the poo back up tonight.

Am so worried!

Well as it was the poo he bought back up I wouldn't worry!!

I would give him some rice and hot bovril and see if he keeps that down. I suspect he is properly hungry again and needs to feel full which is why he ate the poo - other than just being a minging spaniel.............

Will go and cook some rice for in the morning. If I cook it in stock, is that the same as Bovril - I don't have any Bovril!

I know I'm probably being silly but I need someone to tell me that!

Stock will be fine but I would get some Bovril in for future use!! It was originally made for hospital patients who couldn't eat solids - was the original build up feed!! Is made from beef so it smells nice to tempt them and also get some protein, vits, mins and salts down him - so will also encourage him to drink!!

Oh dear, just read your henry troffing post

Mrs Neurotic here! I think if he was mine I would maybe pop him to the vet or at least speak to the vet , bearing in mind that we are approaching the weekend when vets are not quite so accessible. Has any more of the corn husk appeared?

Morning

He is bright and cheerful, and is drinking plenty and eating (when allowed!) with enthusiasm. He also produced a HUGE poop this morning (sorry if you're reading this over breakfast

) - I have never been so pleased to see faeces in my life

No more of the corn has appeared, I think it has all gone now though. I levered some of it out of his gob as he was eating it, I think the rest has come out one way or another.

The egg did stay down in the morning, it did come back with the horsepoo in the evening. He has had some rice cooked in stock this morning so will see how that stays.

I'm at work at the moment but have the afternoon off so can always pop him to the vets if needs be. I might give them a call when it opens later but at the moment am happy enough with him.

SL - will be buying Bovril tonight for the doggy first aid cupboard! Barney NEVER needed any first aid equipment even when he was 16 - goodness knows what Henry will be like if he makes it to an advanced age

In that case sounds as if things are moving okay

Probably the poo was just a bit much for his sensitive stomach, agree that the bovril and rice is a good idea (or chicken and rice but they cn get a bit of a taste for that and demand it every day

). If he is bright and drinking I think you can relax - until next time

Yes, he's been fine thanks! He's had a three hour walk this afternoon so he's nice and tired now

Won't be too graphic but am glad to say that all is moving smoothly at the moment, fingers crossed this continues.

I was so worried about him last night but he seems to have bounced back really well now - phew
