Yesterday Henry went off to Sissons Farm to do the Petplan Area Festival at PSG level.
It was their first AF and they'd put on a really good show including getting a lot of sponsorship for prizes, including money for the winners. YAY!
Apart from me trying to kill the poor boy, he did a fairly OK test, a mistake in the 3 time changes but a lot of 7s and even an 8 for our rein back meant that we won on a score of 65% which qualifies us again for the Final at Hartpury in April.
I mentioned that I nearly killed poor Henry earlier. Obviously not deliberately, but it was very close yesterday and H hates the flies, so got my friend to spray him liberally with the fly spray.
Never gave it a moment's thought, got on and went to warm up but the 'tank' was empty so to speak.
Puzzled, as he's been working really well all week, had a day off the day before then this.
Just about got through the test but far from firing and after we'd finished he was still blowing 20 mins later, very out of character.
It was mum who said 'He couldn't be allergic to the fly spray, could he?'
Well, I don't think he's allergic but when we read the bottle closely, the warnings were quite alarming about don't do this and don't do that and we'd applied it inside the trailer, although the front top door was open, but even so, the only thing we can think of is that H had breathed in the fumes.
I feel so bad, naughty mummy hadn't read the bottle......just assumed as it was for horses it was OK.......
Well it is but only in very well ventilated areas, not to be breathed in.
Thankfully he seems fine today, he's enjoying a day off then some more work in readiness for the demo we're doing on Thursday.
