We're not sure!!

She could be and if she is the dad is a shetland pony, and she does have milk in her teats, but we can't get her tested atm, reasons are quite personal!

If she's bagged up I think thats a pretty clear sign.... How long has she been like that for? Baby could be imminent I'd say!!

She's not really bagged up, but she does have milk in them,!! Urm she has been like it for about 2/3 weeks now...

Would her becoming a bit grumpy and distancing herself from the rest of the herd be signs that would happen if she was nearly ready to foal??

I think i should go and read something!

If what you're saying is true then I should do a little more than read something. Get some wee and get it tested, or get her scanned (although this far gone a vet could feel it within a couple of inches). Either way do something to be sure. You really do not want her doing this alone.

Yes and yes, i think you need to get a test done asap

Whilst she looks like a hardy type the weather is crap atm so you need to get something sorted for her and her baby (if she has one on the way)

Have you had a vet look at her as you don't want her foaling unexpectedly? When is the foal likely to be due if she is in foal? Just out of curiosity, how big is she and will a foal by a shetland reach the udders?

My mare acted really horrible to her companions a couple of weeks before she had her foal. We ended up splitting them up by an electric fence so she wouldn't get too stressed.

Your mare looks very similar to my mare, including the white snip. What is her breeding?
