Hi folks.
Quick bit of background, Veteran horse has arthritic hocks. Still manages to blast around the field like a prune and comes in a little sore. I can't restrict his space as he will (and does) jump the fencing and he has to go out with others.
I do have a box full of Danilon & Bute for the days he's done too much etc and is seen by a vet for a reassessment at least every 6 months. He has cushings which is treated with Prascend. He's on NAF SuperFlex as a support.
I'm just about to run out of "No Bute" which I believe is sugary? I'm also unsure if it really works for him & if it would be cost effective to put him on Danilon instead.. so I got wondering about what the best 'Herbal' supplement is to give a little help, if at all. I know it depends on the individual horse, but for the topic.. what's helped your horse?
Ive heard of..
Subsibute
Bute Substitute
No Bute
Buteless
Bute Free
It seems such a minefield!
