Hi our new mare we think has a small sarcoid and have been reading abit online about them, alot has been said about herbal supplements that can aid the immune system and help with getting rid of sarcoids, has anyone got any experience of this or can suggest any supplements that may help. Thank you

Get her o NAF D-tox, a tablespoonful twice a day. it will take about a month before they start to reduce and then they will go quite fast. I had a TB that had a big sarcoid on the inside of his lower lip and another i his sheath, golf ball size and they disappeared with D-tox.

global herbs sarc ex is fantastic stuff. very smelly but boy does it work!! have heard nothing but good things about it from others also!

My mare had Thuja tablets in an apple for 2 weeks was the only thing to get rid of the sacroid, even cream from the vet didn't work. You can get it from chemist, they also do a cream that costs £7 that you apply to area, for best results you can use both xxx

Sarcex, main ingredient smells like fenugreek. My boy just won't eat it even if disguised in molasses. :(

Honestly, I'd fly spray super carefully and talk to the vet before starting anything.

I used Liverpool cream very successfully.

Aloe vera? Be careful though - some vets swear it is contra-indicated as it helps cells regenerate but the cells they refer to are not "normal" cells. They treat numerous other abnormal skin conditions so I don't know why this myth has permeated and stuck. UP to you - anecdotally many success stories.

I was very successful using Thuja ointment. I applied it twice a day religiously and for the first week there didn't seem to be much difference, then I noticed the sarcoids were feeling sort of spongy and after about 2 weeks they fell off. There was just healthy pink skin and the hair grew back. The sarcoids were on his thighs (small warty ones) and tummy (flat bigish ones). They all went, but I wouldn't use it if they were oozing ones

Our vet gave us a recipe that his receptionist had made, which was for a paste made out of half tea tree oil, and half lemongrass. We covered the lumps with the paste, and within a month they had all shrunk or gone.
