Just thought I'd post alittle update on my little man for anyone who's intrested as I havn't posted about him for a while :)

He's doing realy well. We're having lots of fun hacking on the forest in the sunshine at the mo and had a lovely hack on the common today galloping round like a pair of nutters :o :p :D
His schooling is coming on well to. He can now canter a whole circle :D That's a big step forward for us. He used to canter about half then just fall back to trot, but now he keeps going for a whole circle and falls back to trot after :o Next step is to keep going after the circle ;)
Here is a little video of us schooling in the sunshine the other day. He was being alittle lazy at times but went well. Even with a numpty like me ontop :o ;) :p :D :D

I'm also excited as the local riding school where I took Herbs showjumping last year has just announced it's dates for this year and they're doing loads :D Think it may be time to start getting brave about jumping again.

Thanks for looking. I hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine. xx

Thankyou Ceris Comet :) The short version of our story is I bought him just over two years ago, a very troubled, misunderstood pony :( I was told to give up on him by many people as he was dangorous and a waste of time in there eyes. I couldn't even lunge him without him trying to kill me.
But as the video shows we are proving them all wrong :D I love him so much :)

Fairynuff Yes Herbie's saddle doesn't fit him and his new one hasn't arrived yet so I'm riding him bareback all the time at the mo :) Even out hacking :D

Ceris Comet Thankyou. It's kind of what I do. I'm a sucker for a sob story where ponies are concerned :o

Well at the rate he's going he'll be doing a fab little dressage test soon. What a beautiful trot he has!!

Looks like he is coming along nicely, what a great seat you have bareback too, I could not do it with my back, its too rubbish. This weather is wonderful, I actually rode 3days last week on my friends mare which was lovely, just short hacks but great all the same to keep in the saddle a little while I bring Nell along :)

1Lucie thankyou :) He can go so sweetly when he wants to ;) :p :D

MoggyinManolos thankyou I love riding bareback. But we get some funny looks from people when we are out on the forest :p :) I'm glad your managing to get out riding and make the most of this lovely weather. :)

Natz88 Thankyou :) and thankyou for following my little mans story :D The support I have recieved from people on this forum has ment so much to me through the tough times with Herbs. :)

he's looking really good - he's working so nicely for you without the saddle! :)

your seat is good too, try a neck strap and only holding it with your outside hand to give him something steady to come to and he'll probably lift his back and step under with a hind leg even more to show off his lovely paces :D well done, I can't get over the difference to when you first got him!

How's Merrin getting on?

JenHunt thankyou and thanks for the advice I'll give it a go :) Merryns doing ok. He seems to have calmed down after his joys of spring moment the other week :p :D

Lovely - haven't had a Herbie post for a little while. He's going very nicely for you Laura. What a difference! You are brave hacking without a saddle. I won't even get on mine without one in the school!

Thanks guys. He is such a dude. Who'd have thought 2 years ago I'd even just be schooling bareback never mind hacking him bareback  :D :D I just love this little guy sooooooooooooooo much. :D
