Ok so i was just wondering if there were any herbs that you think your horse would like to eat.

Or are then any in particular that your horse would not even sniff at let alone eat??

Sorry being a bit vague.

Mine eat most really, one is fed clivers and marigold at the minute but I only tend to feed them when theres a problem. i was once told that they only eat the ones they actually need, how true that is I dont know

My lot eat most. I tend to offer only when there is a problem. There are a few that are almost "guaranteed". Nettle, peppermint, chamomile, calendula, milk thistle, bladderwrack (not seaweed)

If you are looking for a treat for your horse - then try unusual things like fennel seeds, anise seeds, fenugreek seeds - you can pick them up cheap from Indian grocers in good sized bags and the horses just love the flavours.

My guys think it's a big reward!

We don;t appreciate how much they like discovering new flavours - and they don;t often like the flavourings in horse food.

Also think about using dried banana chips (not the sugar coated ones!), apricots, dates and so on as treats. My lads love nuts of any kind - almonds are fab - the ones with skins on.

What is good for us is usually appreciated by them.
