I am a bit of a lurker, this is Fatal Ridge (aka Fridge) who has been with me straight off the track for 2 years. Due to MY problems, not his, we'd not really done much together. I'd lost the plot due to personal problems caused by yard wars and having to move the horses after 16 years. We are now in a great place and having some good lessons, and getting much better. Instead of wanting nobody to see me riding due to our embarassing state, I'd quite like for you lot to see him!! He's 11 and stopped flat racing at 9.

And I know it's a foot high and I look like I'm tackling Badminton but we have left the ground with intent. Onwards and upwards!! I haven't been over a twig for years so enthusiasm over style here..

What a beautiful horse! Very well done and don't be harsh on yourself, I for one know how hard it is after a long break getting back into ridden work! You look like you ride your horse very nicely. :-)

He's a stunner, and doesn't he look keen over that fence?! Hope we all get more updates :)

What I saw first was the smile on your face! he's lovely! Horses are to be enjoyed and you are clearly enjoying yours. Keep us posted you will be inspiring other folks who have taken horses off the track.

You look relaxed, are smiling and handsome chap seems happy. I've had my ex flat racer 3 months, she came off the track at 4, was retrained then 2 years of not much at all. We haven't done much just basic schooling, conditioning etc. I haven't even tackled a jump yet, not even a foot high one, we need to work more on picking our feet up first....she is the only horse i've ever had that trips over trotting poles!

I've a real soft spot for Tbs, being on my third one now. Yours is beautiful and you look like you ride him really well. He is a real handsome chap. Good luck with everything you do with him - they are very rewarding. :)

Thankyou all for your lovely comments, I will update when the poles creep up by a few inches! And even if they don't.. A few months ago any excuse not to ride him was a good one, now I need to be dragged off him!!
