.. buying a youngster unseen from Ireland.

I’m not sure why I do it because I really don’t have the nerve, but I have just purchased a little filly from Ireland and she will be on her way over hopefully Tuesday or Wednesday next week.

She is 3 years old and a bit of a Heinz 57. Breeding unrecorded, but supposedly Irish draught sire and cob/friesian dam. She is around 15.2/3 currently so hopefully make a nice size.

A total blank canvas, halter broken and lightly handled, but that’s about it.

Something about her just totally drew me in!

She vetted perfectly, the vet said she was so green bless her, but totally sweet and amenable.

She will be going to a fabulous youngstock livery until we get things more sorted at home.

Now the nervous wait begins!!

Goodness I would not have guessed that breeding from her pictures - apart, maybe, from her legs.

She looks lovely and how good to have a blank canvas to work from. Hope she has a good journey over.

Thank you guys. She will hopefully just make a nice family horse/allrounder but just looking forward to working with her on the ground and see what she seems to enjoy.

I hope she has a good journey too, especially after IrishMilos thread seeing what can happen on the journey! She will have a stop over in England before coming down to me so hopefully plenty of rest and food to keep her relaxed.

I admire your discipline, i would have had to be there for the arrival. She looks lovely.
I know she was supposed to come in the evening, but she ended up arriving much earlier than planned and I have been at work! Itching to meet her, but equally she has had a long old journey so happy for her to relax in a field for a couple of days without too much fuss.
