I don't post on here often, but I could really do with some HHO good vibes.
My horse is lame again, and I have a horrible feeling the navicular's back.
We've already had that in his LF last year....and now it's in the RF. Been lame for 10 days and have done the usual bute/resting without significant improvement (he's a bit of a terror for being stupid in the field and I hoped he'd just pulled something).
Vet came last night and couldn't see or feel anything, except the fact he was lame on his RF. We nerve blocked his foot and that had an effect, so have decided to block the navicular bursa tomorrow and see what that shows. Because I've already had a big claim on the insurance for his nav bursa I'm not covered for the same thing....the only thing we can do is hope that the bursa isn't affected and it's the DDFT or collateral ligaments or something and then i should be covered for an MRI. Vet suspects it could be the bursa again same as me though.
I'm just so gutted. I know it's still early days, but i know what a long road this is, and i feel that i've spent the majority of the last 3 years with a horse i can't ride! I've tried so hard with him - i took him barefoot last year after all the shenanigans and totally overhauled his diet and exercise plan....his feet are loads better, and i've been so careful bringing him back in to work, getting him sound, and really felt like we were starting to get somewhere! Now i feel like i'm going to have to do it all over again! AGGHHHHHH!
Sorry for the miserable post. I just needed to vent to some like-minded people.
Thanks all x
