Have just spoken to the vet about my little boys Cruciate ligament op. He had his left left done in June and now he is quite lame on his right leg when he gets up. We have decided to get it done sooner rather than later so he will probably go in next week. He was so good the first time around I feel really mean putting him through it again so soon but don't feel it is fair to leave him like this. He is much better once he gets moving (positively whippet like if squirrels or rabbits are involved). Sorry for moan feeling a bit low for my babay boy.

Oh no, sorry to hear that

hope all goes well for him, can we have some pics of the lovely boy?

I had my dog seen by a specialist for the same procedure but the surgeon said surgery is carried out for one of two reasons,
1. to alleviate pain, 2. to provide better movement, the aftercare process was awful and he didn't feel at the time my dog would benefit and recommended I start him on Cortaflex, which I have done and he hasn't been lame since.

Good luck you obviously know what this entails.

Our old girl had her Cruciate done at the start of the year, it went between xmas and new year. She's in a poor old way anyway, had many problems since she was a pup but still seems happy, she's now 10 and is a golden retriever.
She was so much better after the op and we would definitely have the other done if it goes too.

Yep he was a different boy after the first op but we knew the other would go sooner or later. He has dodgy knees (can't do anything about them) which means the cruciates were always going to go. Just hoped he would go a bit longer before it got too bad. On the plus side it means by spring he will have two good back legs. There will be no stopping him!!
