Went down the yard today thinking along the lines of having a nice ride in the sunshine.

Went into the field to firstly find this...

I though awe isn't that sweet, he's enjoying the sun.. So I left him for a while whilst giving his field mate some attention.

Then he decided to get up...

Love it! He's such a gorgeous colour, I don't think I've ever seen a pony with such black socks and tail like that, he's amazing!

haha my mare used to do this in the summer! its was a total game! but the annoying thing was that she was out in a 7 acre field! I remember sitting in the field crying on numerous occasions! even when we got the others in she'd still be a cow! then my friend would go over and catch her with no issues! baggage

naughty pony! what a gorgeous boy though, and you do have to laugh sometimes.
my pony used to hide behind a tree just out of reach - infuriating but also hilarious!

He absolutely loves playing the 'you can't catch me game'... Sometimes he's just inches from me, or I get the head collar on his nose before he runs off!

He always waits for me to catch up...

He really changes color over summer, he goes all golden. I would pass on your kind comments but he's such a horror I simply cannot :p

My boy plays that game sometimes, but not very well, he gives up too easily (lucky for me!) but I used to ride a full (Nebo lines) Welsh D who was a pro. It was "wait..wait...wait...aaaannnnndd....go!" and that same look at you when he stopped, just to see if you're keeping up! Bless him! Love his colouring too, and you can't stay cross with that cheeky face!

I was having a good giggle at him today, it's not so funny when it's cold and raining though!

I guess I'm going to have to resort to bribery again and there was me thinking we had an understanding :p

My old boy would do this, but would trot round me in 5 metre circles and only b****r off if I took a step towards him. I had to take a chair, a book and a bucket of feed, put the bucket under the chair, sit on it, read my book and ignore him. When he was begging me to catch him I'd get up and walk away - with the food. The next time I called him, he'd be at the gate before I could finish shouting his name.
