Got to pick Buddy up this afternoon from the horspital :D:D:D
He is on at least a months box rest.

I have to change his bandage every other day (it is a many leveled contraption!)

He has a five day course of penicillin that I have to inject in his bottom (he'll be my no.1 fan!)

Week 1 we have 3 x 5 min in hand walks

Week 2 3 x 10 min in hand walks

Week 3 up to 3 x 15 min in hand walks

with as much in hand grazing as I can find time to give him :)

He has an x ray at the end of this month then we go from there with penned turnout and ridden work, fingers crossed!!

Some pics of the main man;

I'm just so pleased he is home with a good prognosis, I came so close to loosing my entire life. I cannot thank the vets enough, they saved his life :)

So glad he is back where he belongs, this time will bring you even closer together.

Lots of hugs to Buddy Boy and a virtual boozy drink to you xx

YEY!!!
I bet you're a mixture of relieved and scared at the same time? I remember when dee came home from the vets, uber scary time and no where near as scary as what you've been through.

Thanks everyone I am so relieved :) Cannot wait for this period to be over. Poor boy, he has been through such a lot for just a young horse x

Oh bless him! I missed your original post. That must have been SO scary :(

He is gorgeous!!
I dont envy you having to change that bandage though! It looks like itll take some doing. I know when mine had surgery and the vet came to change the bandage, there were so many layers! Lol

Hi shysmum, he is sulking this morn as all the others are put without him but I left him eating his second breakfast.

I am doing the bandage tomorrow, the vet is coming Friday to check the wound and redoing it then I will do it again sunday then vet coming to remove stitches on tuesday. Then another 2 days of bandage. It's got 5 layers!!

Going to graze him in hand on my lunch break so that should cheer him up a tad, then inject him which will pee him off. Siigh poor laddy :( xx

Only just seen this, this has made my day so very pleased for the pair of you. My heart went out to you in your first post asking for vibes, and now we see great pics of Buddy home at last, brought a Huge smile to my face when so your post and read it. Great news, happy post a big hug to you and buddy. Keep us informed of his progress x

He had a lovely munch in hand at lunch time, injection o'clock is looming though, close my eyes and go for it is the plan! Xx
