Vets called this morning (sorry I fell back asleep and forgot to update!) he was comfortable all last night and passed a lot of droppings which is good. They've taken him off IV fluids and are going to introduce a small amount of food and see how he goes (which I'm sure he'll be delighted with!) Unless there is any change they will call again tomorrow morning and should have an idea of when he can come home! They also mentioned scoping for ulcers whilst he is there.
Still keeping everything crossed but we're looking up

Sounds very encouraging and alot like the updates I was getting when my horse had colic...he made a very good recovery. If you need any tips on how to help prevent colic please feel free to pm me, I made it my lifes aim to never go through that again. I know colic is very unpredictable and not always preventable but there are lots of things you can do to help minimise the risks.

A nice update for you all got a call just before I started work which is why I didn't have chance to let you know.
He's been absolutely fine and these vets have taken over his eye treatment. Our usual vets had initially transferred him to another vets as there was an eye specialist there but he was so hard to get hold of it was like pulling teeth and any developments took about 3 weeks to come about etc. So vets number 3 (where he is now) have had the all clear from vets number 1 to take over from vets number 2! (Hope that makes sense...?)
Anyway the best news is he is coming home tomorrow and I can start riding again as they've removed this s*dding useless lavage!!
