What an absolute tragedy.

As for the kids being in the van, I don't think we are in any position to comment. Perhaps they were sleeping, perhaps they were simply left for a few minutes. Whatever the reason, the magnitude of this tragedy is not lessened in any way.

Absolutely.
Very, very sad.

Very very sad, if my son was asleep when he was younger I quite often left him in the car next to the stables while I sorted the horses. Very sad poor child.

Oh and forgot to add, I can't even begain to think what it must off been like for them to see your child die like that. Bloody awful and my heart goes out to the family it really does. How do u get over something like that.

We in no place to comment on the ifs, whys and buts of the reasons why they children were in the Van. It could be as simple so that the parents knew where they were while tending to the horses for the childrens safety.

These poor parents are probably feeling guilty enough about this tragdey without us lot passing judgements

So sad. And I agree with Sheep, we don't know the circumstances and I am sure the family feel bad enough as it is.

That is horriffic, poor kids, and their family.

I am certainly guilty of leaving mine in the car, if she is asleep or if I just have to quickly run in a shop, I certainly won't be doing that again

I dont have kids but often look after my cousin's little boy. I guess it just never crossed my mind that you would ever leave them in a vehicle you couldnt see them in/get to them in an instant. I suppose maybe its different when you have them day in day out as it can be awkward to get things done with them but I still personally cant see myself ever doing that. However,I used to live near where Madeline Mckann's parents did and Im sure that would shape my decisions whether consciously or not as to decisions in leaving children alone just as Daisydo says this will alter the circumstances in which she will leave her child. I wouldnt attack the parents for making that decision to leave the children in the van, I personally just found it confusing as it wouldnt have occured to me to do it. Im surprised about people saying they leave their kids to pop in a shop (again not judgementally just surprised) but maybe the massive impact the Madeline snatching incident had on my area shaped my ideas on leaving children differently to what is normal for most . Im sure the parents do feel terrible and I hope for their sanity that it was a freak accident where they will struggle to blame themselves for doing something wrong as that kind of guilt must be incredibly difficult to live with. I have no clue how you even start to get over that kind of grief :(.
