Hey, so im new here but have read lots of threads that have helped me with my horsey problems! I don't own a horse, but have weekly lessons in normal times (not lockdown!) and am very interested in part loaning a pony for the first time! I have been riding 5 years now and have just started to jump and id really like to get to start competing and id love to join pony club! Any tips for finding my first part loan pony and getting into competitions without my own pony? Thanks, stay safe!

Hi! Welcome to the forum!

The best way to find a part loan is usually local horsey Facebook groups or ask your instructor to keep an ear out for you. You could put up a wanted ad but make sure any competition entry/transport is discussed at the beginning of the agreement. If you're under 18 you might need to get a guardian to enter an agreement on your behalf.

You'll get good advice here if you post a thread in the Tack Room, I'm not sure many people hang out in this section. :)

Aww thanks for the tips! My local tack shop recently got shut down where I was thinking about putting a wanted add up so I'm looking for some where else to put up an add so I only get local people! Ill ask my instructor but its a bit hard because I'm new at my stables (just moved) and they offer part loan ponies there..... but for £90 for 3 days which my family cant afford to put into horse riding in one week! Will have to find a way around this! Thanks again!

If you type horses *your area* equine *your area* etc into Facebook you'll find some groups to place an ad in. I share a horse who I found on one of those groups (that's him in my avatar). I hope you find a good one, agree that 90£ is a bit steep and it's awkward to ask your riding school if you don't want one of theirs! Good luck :)
