It is illegal to obstruct people and I don't agree with it.

However just because someone does something illegal doesn't give you a carte blanche to drive your car at them.

Regarding antis 'policing' hunts it is an absurd idea because they are so obviously completely biased. Can you imagine the police continually writing to the papers about how awful they think black people are and then trying to police a black area constantly following them round with cameras as they go about their lawful business. The whole idea is completely absurd.

Oh please, you people, will you just get a grip of yourselves. Your wild imaginations are getting a little carried away me thinks. No one has driven at anyone, nor would most people and to get things in perspective here, we are talking about people deliberately putting their mount in danger!!!! But you seem to think that is acceptable. After this post I am not even going to look at this thread again because it is becoming pointless and very silly. Some of you are taking my comments literally as if it is something I have already done and continue to do on a regular basis, which as you well know is a very childish thing to say. You obviously feel you have to resort to these tactics to try and take attention away from the real issue of whether or not the Heythrop were hunting illegally. It is very tiresome and boring and I suggest that you all find something better and more constructive to do with your time! I have never and never would hurt a living thing, but do wonder about some of you lot, judging by the irrational comments. If you hear on the news that I have mowed and horse and rider down (as you like to put it) then you will be justified in making such comments. Until such time, please keep your imagination under control and try spending your time more constructively. Dont bother replying i wont be reading it!

No I haven't said it is acceptablpe I've said I don';t agree with it.

What I was pointing out is that your behavior wouldn't be acceptable either:

"If they did that to me when I am driving I would drive into them, blare the horn, rev the engine, but sit there I would not!!"

I'm simply pointing out that driving into horses isn't acceptable.

[joking or not, it's not something to jest about. how do you know that the person is not just having a difficult time with a young horse. sounds to me like you don't want to wait to find out. hope your young horse is a saint. [/quote]

On this point you obviously didnt see the footage, you could clearly see the car totally surrounded by horses and riders, so close they were almost touching the car, horses looked pretty placid to me. It couldnt have been more obvious that on that occasion the riders were deliberately blocking the car in and putting their horses lives in danger in the process! My young horse is a saint and far too valuable to me to even take her hunting, let alone position her inches away from a car to deliberately block its path with her body, have these people no concern for their horses!!

I have a classic example of arrogant hunters and their lack of respect for the others!!.

During a drive back from Hemswell in Lincolnshire we were driving back to Lincoln along the A15 from the Caenby corner roundabout which is notorious for one of the worst places for fatal accidents in the Country. My friend was driving at the time and we were keeping to the 60 limit and all of a sudden he slammed on the brakes. There was a large woman stood in the middle of the road over the brow of the hill with her hand in the air expecting us to stop!. It took a few seconds to register what was going on as we thought there had been an accident in the road ahead. It was then we noticed a line of people on horseback and hounds crossing the busy road!. This stupid woman just stood there without a care in the world as cars behind us and coming in the oposite direction slammed on their brakes too!. It was a good 5 mins before she decided to move out of the road. As we drove past my friend shouted to her ansd asked what she thought she was doing and this woman very promptly stuck her middle finger up and waddled to the verge to talk to her pals on the roadside!.It was obvious this woman was getting abuse from the line of cars following us, yet she showed no care at all.

This stupid woman could have caused a serious accident which could have resulted in carnage. She could have also made a nasty dent in my friends car had he hit her!!.

Ive used this forum for years now and I expect my claims will be rubbished and the usual verbal thrown at me by pros, but what I witnessed was absolutely stupid and could have caused serious injury.

I know EAGLE_DAY is from Lincolnshire and could maybe shed some light on which hunt this was and maybe give them a few tips on road safety?.

It does mae me laugh how you guys can justify what was shown on inside out!!.

Its blatent what was going on there, but you come out with the silliest of excuses to justify your pals and their actions!.

You must surely realise that this type of publicity does your cause no good whatsoever!. Not to mention the fact that Otis 'my dad used to be in a crap band' Ferry is in the media once again for assualting women and theft!!.

If it was blatantly obvious what was going on then why wasn't the law enforced?

It strikes me that the law can't be very effective if people are blatantly hunting and yet cannot be touched.

And what makes you think the law wont be enforced in this case?.

I didn't see the footage, which is a shame as I am sure it would have been interesting.

Hunt monitors aren't stupid though, they are very good at engineering situations to put hunts, even when acting lawfully, in a bad light. For example I know the Heythrop cover country that takes in many small isolated villages, those who follow in cars quite regularly know that some roads are single track and lead nowhere and don't actually offer much of a view. If you are stupid enough to take your car down some of these lanes and actually encounter the field in the lane then yes, you are stuck there until they find a route off the lane and get the field cleared - they wouldn't anticipate meeting traffic and certainly don't plan for it except when crossing the occasional main road. On those occasions it is quite normal for an outrider to stop the traffic to allow the field to pass safely across the road - and good manners to stop and allow them to do so. Of course the usual hunt monitors who skulk around after the Heythrop aren't locals (because they are massively supported locally) and maybe can't read maps.

Anybody who has to screech to a halt probably isn't concentrating

Indeed I could, but it is you and your abusive friend who appear to need the road safety lesson. There many road users using the public carriageway in different ways. Here we had a lady sensibly holding the traffic up to get horses, hounds and riders - many of whom would have been children - over what is a lethally dangerous road.

Would your reaction have been the same to agricultural machinery, a cycle race or a half-marathon? Or are you forever blinded by your prejudice?

Ahhh, the hunters favourite word again PREJUDICE....

Im sorry, but I have to disagree there. That stupid fat lump of a woman nearly caused a serious accident!. It was on a very busy road on a Sunday afternoon. There was a lot of traffic travelling at high speed and what she did was reckless and stupid. You make me giggle when you try and turn the argument in your favour, your not very good at it to be honest are you??!!!.
